Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh has issued the notification for the PMT Screening & PMT Main entrance exam 2010. It is an all India level competitive written test conducted by BHU in two stages i.e. PMT Screening and PMT Main for admission into following programme, offered in the ensuing session 2010.

• MBBS (Bachelor of Surgery Bachelor of Surgery)
• BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)
• BAMS (Bachelor of Ayuvedic Medicine)
• B Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy

In case of admission into MBBS course candidates are required to appear in both the stages PMT Screening & PMT Main examination. For rest of BDS / BAMS / B Pharmcourses applicants are required to appear in one stage only i.e. PMT Screening examination.

How to Apply

Application form and information brochure can be obtained by post from the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005 by sending a written request through registered post along with crossed DD/Bankers Cheque (MICR only) of Rs 1200 for General / OBC Candidates and Rs 800 for SC/ST candidates of a Nationalized Bank, drawn in favor of “The Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU” payable at Varanasi. The postal request must also be accompanied with two self-addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10 cm × 6 cm size. The ENVELOP containing requisition for PMT application form should be super scribed “Request for Application for PMT-2010, BHU”. Application form complete in all respect must be sent through Registered Post so as to reach “THE DIRECTOR (PMT CELL), INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY, VARANASI - 221 005” on or before the last date mentioned. Admission into MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm Courses

Courses offered : Admission Notice for MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm. Courses-2010

Eligibility : Passed Intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together; (i) For MBBS/BDS/BAMS – a minimum of 50% for General, OBC and respective PC candidates and 40% aggregate marks for SC/ST and respective PC candidates; (ii) For B.Pharm. – a minimum of 60% marks for General, OBC and respective PC candidates and 55% aggregate marks for SC/ST and respective PC candidates. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply.

BY POSTAL CHANNEL : From the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005 by sending a written request through Registered Post along with Crossed Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque (MICR only) of Rs. 1200/- (Rs. 800/- for SC/STcandidates) of a Nationalized Bank, drawn in favour of “The Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU” payable at Varanasi. Application form will be sent by Speed / Registered Post. However, Institute will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay.

The request for application form must include the name and address of the candidate, and full particulars of the enclosed DD/BC (write candidate’s name and address on the back of DD). Two self-addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10 cm X 6 cm size MUST also accompany it.

The ENVELOP containing requisition for PMT application form should be super scribed “ Request for Application for PMT-2010, BHU”. Last date of requisition for PMT form by post is Friday, the 19th February 2010.

Incomplete/non-cashable Draft (under amount/ unsigned/ without Bank Code No. & Seal) shall not be accepted.

NOTE : (a) Separate Bank Draft will be required for each application form. (b) M.O./ I.P.O./Cheques shall NOT be accepted under any circumstances. Application Forms from the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute ofMedical Sciences, can be obtained by POST only and not in person.
